We welcome you to the 7th Aortic Asia Symposium 2018. We are happy to hold this year's meeting with the Chapter of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Singapore in conjunction with the newly formed Singapore Society for Vascular & Endovascular Surgery. The meeting is a multi specialty platform for specialists in Asia treating patients with aortic disease. In addition to highlighting advances in endovascular and open aortic surgical interventions, our theme this year will on collaboration in order to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.

Patients are now presenting at an older age with multiple co-morbidities; their disease is acute and often complex. Most centres are now adopting a multi-disciplinary approach to treating aortic disease, where multiple specialists practice side by side. By consulting and collaborating with each other in real time, patients would benefit from a more seamless experience and improved outcomes.

With newer devices and evolving techniques this Asian Aortic focus group continues to meet and share collective data and experiences on how best to treat our patients. Key areas of interest for discussion would be lessons learnt from consensus opinions on approaches to aortic arch interventions, aortic dissection, secondary interventions for aortic disease, complex aneurysms, mycotic aneurysms, management of endoleaks and setting up an Asian Aortic Registry.

The format of the meeting will include plenary lectures, case discussions, moderated panel discussion, practical tips and problem solving. We hope that new collaborations and continued innovation will improve the outcomes for our patients with aortic disease.

We look forward to seeing you at Aortic Asia 2018 Singapore.

Best wishes
